The Duszniki International Chopin Piano Festival was first organized in 1946 by Ignacy Potocki. In the post-war period it had a repolonization meaning.

Since 1968, Chopin Summer Festivals have been organized at the private property of George Sand in Nohant. Chopin was a frequent visitor in Nohant in the years 1839-1846. The theme of the festival oscillates around the composer and writer's works. The program consists of numerous meetings, concerts, lectures and conferences.
